The Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium is a certified MINT school, ie a school with a focus on mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology. For this reason, the focus as well as the successes of the school are in these areas. As a "school without racism - school with courage", the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium uses various projects to promote respectful, tolerant and peaceful coexistence. The Siemens grammar school is particularly committed to supporting gifted students. In the MINT areas in particular, there are various offers that enable in-depth training. The pupils are taught in grades 5 and 6 in the subject of handicrafts/technology. A special feature of our special school is the subject computer science, which is taught from the 7th grade. In addition, the lessons in mathematics and the natural sciences are taught more intensively, additional subject areas are taught. Specialist rooms are available in the school building for the Economics and Technology department. Due to the special focus of our school, teaching is based on a modified course system. Each student must take two science courses. In addition, courses in economics, technology, psychology, computer science and all natural sciences are offered in grades 11 to 12.

Accommodation

Pupils from surrounding towns can also attend our school as we have places in halls of residence.The dormitory is about 4 km from the school. The accommodation costs 2500 euros per year. In the dormitory, the students are looked after by three teachers.

Surrounding Area

Magdeburg is a central German city on the Elbe River. In the city center, the Gothic-style Magdeburg Cathedral is the burial place of the Holy Roman emperor Otto the Great. The Museum of Cultural History details the city’s medieval importance with exhibitions on archaeology and local history. Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen, a Romanesque monastery complex, is home to a contemporary art gallery and sculpture park.
