  Kolleg St. Blasien について
The St. Blasien College is a state-recognized general Gymnasium. The pupils can acquire the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) in eight school years (grades 5-12).

"Cura personalis" - the "concern for the individual" is a trademark of Jesuit pedagogy. For us it is part of everyday life to deal intensively with our students. Detailed information on our claim: "We take time for every child" .

In the field of foreign languages , we offer a wide range of language sequences. The primary school foreign language, English, is continued by all pupils at the St. Blasien College in 5th grade. The second foreign language begins at the beginning of the second half of the 5th grade. The students have the choice between Latin and French. The third foreign language begins in class 8. Greek, Chinese, Spanish, and possibly Latin or French are possible here. As an alternative to a third foreign language, the subject of natural science and technology (NwT) can be chosen in the 8th grade.

In the course systemIn the last two school years, the pupils - as in state schools - put together their own course program within certain guidelines. Here, too, the St. Blasien College is characterized by an extremely wide range of subjects: German, mathematics, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Latin, Greek, biology, chemistry, physics, music, fine arts, history, politics, geography, economics , cath. Religion, possibly religion and sport are subjects from the so-called “compulsory area”. In the “elective area”, the subjects Descriptive Geometry, Geology, Literature and Theater, Literature, Philosophy, Philosophy in English, Computer Science and Astronomy are offered. The St. Blasien college attaches great importance to integrating religious elements into everyday school life. Each morning class begins with a prayer. There are weekly narrative services in grades 5 and 6in the house chapel, which are designed by religion teachers of both denominations. Here the children are familiarized with biblical stories and church festivals are celebrated. There is also space for the experience of silence, common prayer and modern spiritual songs. In Advent and Lent, these services are also celebrated in grades 7 and 8. The entire college community meets in the cathedral for the start of the school year and for various occasions. A separate meditation room is regularly used for individual classes or boarding school groups. One and several days of reflection, which are intended to open up spaces for the students to consciously deal with their own life situation and which are used to practice various forms of meditation, prayer and exchange, take place for all students in grades 5 and 8 as well as course grade 11. In the last days before Christmas, high school graduates have the opportunity to do Ignatian retreats in silence. For students and employees, theCollege chaplain available.

A two-week social internship, which is mandatory for all students, takes place in course level 11.

A wide range of extracurricular activities rounds off the school profile. The pupils of the higher grades receive a wide range of career guidance and counseling .

In the current school year, 844 students (238 internal, 606 external) attend the St. Blasien college. They are taught by 85 teachers (including two trainee teachers and four interns). With the school board are Michael Becker and his deputy Cathrin Stoll entrusted. You will be supported in the extended school management by the three department heads Patrick Lebrecht, Martin Backhaus and Holger Köpcke.
