The idyllic University City Heidelberg is located in the southwest of Germany in the metropolitan area Rhein-Neckar, right next to the river Neckar. The city has a long history dating back to the Roman era. The castle ruins and the old town of Heidelberg attract millions of tourists every year.
30.000 of the 140.000 inhabitants of Heidelberg are students, most of whom study at the University of Heidelberg.
The University was established in 1386 as the third university to be founded in German-speaking countries and is the oldest university in Germany. Students study a wide range of subjects,the most popular of which remain Medicine, Law and Sciences.
Thanks to its central position, other famous University Cities including Karlsruhe, Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Mainz and Köln can be reached very quickly from Heidelberg.

授業フォーカス : The language academy Alpha Aktiv specializes in German courses and it has much expertise in the field of intensive courses. We offer German courses at all levels of the Common European Framework (CEF), from beginners level A1 to the almost fluent level C2. We also offer preparation courses for the most important German tests: DSH, Test-DaF, certificate C1 and C2 of the Goethe-Institute, telc etc. Our intensive courses of 20 class hours per week are most popular. During these courses, class materials are intensely analysed, discussed and learned.
German Level : A1 level (8weeks),A2 (8weeks),B1 (8weeks),,B2 (9 weeks), Takes total 33weeks
Foreign students who wish to study at a German University need to prove their knowledge of German. Usually, language skills on at least Level B2 are requested by Universities.TestDaF tests the language skills reading, listening, writing and speaking. This way it can be verified that the test participant has the required language skills to be able to participate in scientific and academic fields of study and work.
The results of TestDaF are divided into three levels: TDN 3, which is about B2 Level, TND 4, which is about B2.2 - C1.1 Level, and TDN 5, which is about C1.2 Level. Students who wish to take the TestDaF should therefore have passed a German course of at least Level B2.

TestDaF is an internationally centralised exam which is held at specific dates and only at licensed test centres. Unline the DSH, which is designed and held by different Universities for their own use, TestDaf provides the chance of internationally comparing German language skills. TestDaF is accepted with all German universities as proof of a student’s language skills.
TestDaF can be taken at Alpha Aktiv on specifically fixed dates. Participants get their results within 6 weeks, as well as a detailed certificate about their language skills.

This way, you have the possibility to improve your German – conveniently from the safe environment of your own home! カリキュラム : We offer online classes for all levels from A1 to C1 as well as for the preparation course TestDaF / DSH / Telc C1 Hochschule. To participate in our online classes, you solely need a laptop / computer, a tablet or a smartphone. A headset is not absolutely necessary. For our Online Courses, we are using the platform Zoom.

The language academy Alpha Aktiv provides several student residences in Heidelberg. There are two buildings in the city center and another in the idyllic area Ziegelhausen. All these academy owned buildings have both single and double rooms.
In a student residence, a student has the choice of living alone or sharing a room with another student. In these residences, students share the kitchen and the bathroom with other flat-mates. It is well known that students quickly make contact with other international students in these residences and that they can benefit from this through practicing what they have already learned in class on a daily basis.

Host Families
Living with a host family is an alternative to living in our student residences or in an apartment. Living with a host family of our choice gives you the best chance to learn about the German way of life. In addition, by engaging with native speakers on a daily basis you get to improve your language skills in a very practical way. The accommodation is usually booked with half board, but of course boarding arrangements can be customized if required.
